Since 2001 5linx Enterprises has operated as a privately held company, and is a direct marketing MLM company that supplies products and services in the US.

I am always interested to see peoples understanding of what MLM is about. It is surprising how often I get asked the question of whether an MLM company is a scam.

When it comes to 5linx Enterprises the answer to the question is definitely NO. Let’s take a closer look at why I say that the 5linx business opportunity is not a scam…

Just to be fair before I do – I need to make you aware right here that I am not a 5linx distributor. I am not affiliated with 5linx in any way. I do not use their products and I do not sponsor people into 5linx downlines. Furthermore I don’t know anyone who is a 5linx distributor.

[adsanity_group num_ads=1 num_columns=1 group_ids=78 /]But I do have the experience of establishing and running a business that did over $500 million or £300 million of business over a period of 20 years. And also I have been involved in the Network Marketing industry since 1991. This combination of experience allows be to see things that other people won’t be able to see on the surface.

I presume that if you are reading this article you are considering investing in the 5linx business opportunity or maybe you already have signed up and you are having some doubts. Either way it is a good thing that you are doing some due diligence.

The Collins English Dictionary defines a ‘scam’ as ‘a stratagem for gain; a swindle’. With this in mind I will now explain why the 5linx Enterprises business model is not a scam.

People who are familiar with the Network Marketing laws in the US, that have been around for over 35 years, will also recognise that 5linx is not a scam but an excellent company that operates within the legal requirements of a home based business in the United States as required by the FTC.

The question of whether or not a company is a scam or a genuine home business opportunity stems from a lack of understanding of the legal parameters for an MLM business in the US. Due to this people will often confuse a legitimate Multi-Level Marketing opportunity with a Pyramid Scam. The people who don’t understand the MLM laws haven’t taken the time to study the background of court cases that happened during the late 70s in the United States. With this understanding when you look at the various aspects of the 5linx Enterprises business model you know that they are providing a genuine business opportunity and they are offering real value to the market.

First of all, they have an excellent array of home and business telecommunications products and services. Among these are cellular phones with plans from major US carriers; satellite TV service from DIRECTV and DISH Network; and also broadband Internet and home security services. A subsidiary of 5LINX, GLOBALINX has products which include Wi-Fi phones and digital phone services; with VoIP services for residential and business customers. The great thing about selling many of these products is that people are often already paying for them so you don’t have to sell the service to someone who didn’t realise they needed the service. The only question is will you be able to offer extra value or a lower price to get the deal?

As well as the already mentioned products and services 5linx also sells a range of wellness products which include health and nutrition products.

5linx Enterprises has an annual revenue of over $110 million and they are members of the Direct Selling Association (DSA).

Second, to get started you can become a 5LINX representative at two levels which have two associated levels of cost; to start as a Customer Representative requires a very low initial investment of $99; or to start as an Independent Marketing Representative requires an initial investment of $249. There are also some monthly service charge of up to $49.95 and an annual renewal fee of $99.00 that needs to be paid to 5LINX Enterprises.

[adsanity_group num_ads=1 num_columns=1 group_ids=77 /]Like most MLM comp plans provides several ways to earn a commission. With 5linx there are a total of 8 ways to get paid such as commissions from the sale of the products and services which provide monthly residual income when the people you sign up make their monthly payments for their bills – you get a cut. As well as there are other incentives and bonuses such as profit sharing, vacations, sign up bonuses for signing up new representatives and new customers, and luxury cars bonuses.

Third, when I looked at what actual distributors who had been with the company for a long time were saying they were happy with the company and its comp plan.

My verdict is that 5linx is not a scam but a real home business opportunity with very low start-up costs. I say this in light of the definition of a scam that I discussed earlier, MLM law, corporate laws, consumer laws, and the reality that this company is selling tangible products and services and providing a real business opportunity that you can make money from. All considered it is best not to refer to this home business opportunity as the 5linx Scam.

If you are going to get involved in the 5linx business, it would be much better for you if, instead of wasting your time wondering if the business model is a scam, you spent your time learning the essential skills that you will need to have that will allow you to take your 5linx business to the highest level.
