To establish if the USANA business model is a scam or a legitimate business opportunity it is necessary to look at a few different components of the USANA business model.

Ever since 1992 USANA has been manufacturing and distributing its products. USANA is publically listed on the New York Stock and currently has annual revenues of $718 million which puts it in the top 20 largest MLM companies in the world. They distribute their Nutritional products, Diet & Energy and Personal Care products via a network of MLM independent distributors in over 18 countries around the world and the whole operation is run from their headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States.

It’s amazing how many times people will ask me if an MLM company is a scam. I get asked this quite often which is probably because I am actively involved in Multi-Level Marketing on a daily basis.

[adsanity_group num_ads=1 num_columns=1 group_ids=72 /]What I can tell you at this point is that USANA is definitely not a scam. So now let’s have a closer look at why I say that the USANA business opportunity isn’t a scam…

Just to be fair before getting started – I must make you aware right now that I am not a USANA distributor – I’m not in any way affiliated with USANA. I don’t use any of their products and I don’t sponsor people into USANA downlines. Moreover I don’t know anybody who is a USANA distributor.

But I do have 20 years of experience from founding and running a business which did over $500 million or £300 million of revenues. Plus I have been in the Network Marketing industry since 1990. This mix of business experience makes it possible for me to see things that other people aren’t able to see on the face of it when looking at a home business opportunity.

In the Collins English Dictionary it describes a ‘scam’ as ‘a stratagem for gain; a swindle’. It is useful to keep this in mind when considering if a company’s MLM business model is legally allowed.

For anyone who has familiarity with the 35 year old MLM laws in the US they will see, when they look at the USANA business model, that it is legitimate and complies with the FTC and US laws as well as the laws of every country that they operate in around the world.

People will ask the ‘scam’ question about a company because of a lack of knowledge of what is legally permitted for a Multi-Level Marketing company in the USA. This dearth of knowledge causes people to confuse a legitimate Network Marketing opportunity for an unlawful Pyramid Scam. The people who don’t know the background of the court cases that occurred during the 1970s in the US haven’t spent the time studying this vital information and pass their opinions when they are ignorant of the facts. But when you are aware of this important information and you look at a number of areas of the USANA business you see that they are providing a tangible opportunity that is providing real value in the home business opportunity market.

As well as fulfilling the legal requirements of every country that they operate within USANA also has been accepted as a member of the Direct Selling Association and abides by their code of ethics. Over the years USANA has picked up a string of accolades for it products and business opportunity.

One distinguishing factor with USANA is that they have their own team of scientists to formulate the USANA’s products so they are always at the forefront of leading edge nutrition discoveries. This is evident by the number of scientific articles that have been written about the USANA’s products. After writing this article and finding out about the company I have certainly learn a lot and I would use the USANA products in the future.

What’s going on with the USANA Compensation Plan?

The USANA comp plan is a binary structure which is a proven system used by many Multi-Level Marketing opportunities that has been around for a long time. Binary comp plans have made it possible for people to make lots of money over the years. Across the whole company the average annual earnings are $873.25 which when compared to other MLM companies is higher than most. For those who have been with USANA for a longer period of time and have become USANA Associates they make $108,000 on average each year. This pay plan is legally compliant in every country that USANA operates in around the world. Also the cost of getting started is only $30!

[adsanity_group num_ads=1 num_columns=1 group_ids=71 /]I also researched what long standing USANA distributors had to say about the company and its business opportunity and I found that people were saying excellent things about it. This is reinforced by USANA’s rating of A+ with the Better Business Bureau which on a scale of A+ to F is the highest rating that they give. With the information in this article it is quite clear that USANA is not a scam and it would be right to NOT refer to the ‘USANA Scam’ from this point on.

Instead of wasting time thinking about and researching whether USANA is a scam you would doing yourself a huge favour to invest your valuable time in learning the vital skills that are needed to grow your business and build your down line.
